Fairfield, IA - hawthorne direct, the direct response TV advertising agency, recently received two top Telly Awards for the following infomercial campaigns: The Silver Telly Award for Jenny Craig's A Moment of Truth, produced by hawthorne in association with Script to Screen. A Moment of Truth, which aired in 1997, illustrates in depth all of Jenny Craig's benefits and features: personal consultants, one-on-one support, great inexpensive food, medical counseling, prescription weightloss medication and group programs. The infomercial communicates the repositioning of the company as newer and better than ever before -- as ‘The New Jenny Craig'.
The Bronze Telly Award for Time Life’s Gold and Platinum Rex Smith RIAA: RIA3, produced by hawthorne direct and Time Life Music. In 1994, Time Life Music and the Recording Industry Association of America came together in an unprecedented association to assemble a collection of the biggest rock and roll hits of the past 30 years. After nearly four years of negotiations with music’s biggest artists, the result was "Gold and Platinum", a collection of over 150 superhits on 6 CD’s from such artists as Bob Dylan, Michael Jackson, Simon and Garfunkle, Elvis Presley, Jefferson Airplane, Jimi Hendrix, Madonna, Sting, U2, Bon Jovi, Hootie and the Blowfish, Sheryl Crow and dozens more.
The ‘Gold and Platinum’ infomercial showcases over 60 of these artists and their hits in a fast paced, entertaining half hour of great music and performance footage. Targeted for men and women, from 25 to 55, the program persuasively sells the hottest collection of music ever marketed by Time Life Music.
Celebrating with its 19th annual competition this year, Telly Awards was founded in 1980, to showcase and give recognition to outstanding non-network and cable TV commercials. The competition was expanded several years ago to include film and video productions as well as non-network TV programming. Judges consist of a group of over 20 production professional from all regions of the USA. They represent a cross section of producers: from agencies, TV stations, production houses and corporate video departments. All judges have previously won a Telly.
