Evinrude E-TEC Infomercial
This infomercial introduces a new and advanced outboard motor from Evinrude that is faster, tougher and needs less maintenance than other leading outboards. The objective was to create a documentary-style long form advertisement that highlights the design advantages of the new Evinrude E-TEC 2-stroke engine. The program compares the new E-TEC to the competition in head to head comparisons including a drag race between the Yamaha and Mercury 225 engines against the 225 E-TEC. All of the competitions were adjudicated by third party involvement and were independently documented by a separate documentary film crew. The creative features beautiful footage from speeding boats and overhead shots from a helicopter. The target audience was to be men 25-60, who love to fish and want the best, most efficient and reliable outboard motor available.
The Chicago International Television Awards honors winning entries in a wide range of categories including categories under the heading of television series, television commercial, television production and individual television programs, as well as categories for special achievement, such as sound, animation, computer graphics and writing.
Each year, panels of distinguished media professionals are assembled to judge the entries. To insure fully qualified appraisals, judges who are familiar with the industry and intended audience of each entry are selected. All aspects of the production’s technical execution are evaluated for professionalism, creativity and effectiveness in achieving its goals. Entries are judged against others in the same category, but judges have the right to recommend that no award be given in a category if entries do not meet the award criteria.
